# Export Quotes to CSV

> Export your quote data — open, booked, and lost — to analyze inbound inquiries, conversion, and win/loss by source

## Overview

Export your quotes to CSV format for marketing analysis, conversion tracking, and business intelligence. The export includes one row per quote — open, booked, and lost — with event types, sources, addresses, and quote values, so you can see where inquiries come from and which ones turn into bookings.

## How to Export Quotes

<Steps>
  <Step title="Navigate to the Pipeline">
    Go to the [Pipeline](https://app.flashquotes.com/pipeline) page in your Flashquotes dashboard. Apply any filters first — the export matches your current filters and sort.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Export CSV">
    Click the **Export CSV** button in the top right of the header, next to **New quote**. Exporting is available on desktop.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose columns and scope">
    Pick which columns to include. The **Include booked and lost** toggle (on by default) keeps closed-out quotes in the file for win/loss analysis — switch it off to export only open quotes.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Download Your File">
    Your browser will automatically download a CSV file containing your quotes (maximum 2,000 rows).
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What's Included

Each row is a single quote. These columns are included by default:

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion icon="user" title="Contact Information">
    * First Name
    * Last Name
    * Company Name
    * Email
    * Phone
    * Source
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion icon="file-lines" title="Quote & Event Details">
    * Event Type
    * Stage
    * Quote Date
    * First Event Date
    * Guest Count
    * Quote Value
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

And these are available as opt-in columns:

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion icon="table-columns" title="Additional Columns">
    * Company Location
    * Lead Owner
    * Event Address
    * Services
    * Add-ons
    * Staff Count
    * Resource Count
    * Sent Date
    * Expiry Date
    * Booked Date
    * Lost Date
    * Lost Reason
    * Quote ID
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Export Scope

* **Filters and sort carry over** — the export matches exactly what you've filtered the Pipeline to, in the same order
* **Date range** — without a date filter, the export covers the last 90 days; set a created-date filter to reach further back or narrow down
* **Booked and lost quotes** are included by default via the toggle in the export dialog

## Common Use Cases

### Marketing Attribution

Analyze your inbound quote data by where it came from:

* Measure inquiry volume and booking rate by source
* Compare quote values across marketing channels
* Identify which channels bring high-intent inquiries

### Win/Loss Analysis

Export with booked and lost quotes included to:

* Track conversion rates by event type or source
* Review lost reasons to spot patterns (price, availability, timing)
* Compare won vs. lost quote values

### Demand Planning

Use event details to plan ahead:

* Break down demand by event address, city, or venue
* Track guest counts and staffing needs by season
* Forecast busy periods from first event dates

## Export Limits

<Note>
  Exports are limited to 2,000 quotes per export to ensure optimal performance. For larger datasets, add a created-date filter and export in batches.
</Note>

## File Format

The CSV file follows RFC 4180 standards:

* UTF-8 encoding
* Comma-separated values
* Double-quoted text fields
* Header row with column names
* Compatible with Excel, Google Sheets, and all major data tools

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion icon="exclamation-triangle" title="Export button not appearing">
    The Export CSV button appears in the Pipeline header on desktop only — it isn't available on mobile.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion icon="file-excel" title="File won't open in Excel">
    If special characters appear incorrectly:

    1. Open Excel first
    2. Use Data → Import from Text/CSV
    3. Select UTF-8 encoding
    4. Choose comma as delimiter
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion icon="filter" title="Missing quotes in export">
    Check your export scope — the export respects:

    * All active Pipeline filters (date range, source, event type, location, owner)
    * The default 90-day window when no date filter is set
    * The **Include booked and lost** toggle in the export dialog
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion icon="circle-info" title=""No quotes match your filters"">
    If nothing matches your current filters, no file downloads. Widen your filters or date range and try again.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>
