# Member Role

> Understand what Members can see and change, and when to invite someone as a Member or Admin.

The **Member** role gives a teammate access to daily work in Flashquotes while limiting financial summaries, reports, team management, and edits to core company information. Choose **Admin** when someone also needs those management tools.

Members can see individual booking and invoice amounts and make changes to customer records. Give this role to someone you trust to work in your company workspace.

## Member vs. Admin

These permissions apply to the company you're currently working in. Someone can be a Member in one company and an Admin or Owner in another. Features also depend on your [plan](/settings/plans); team access requires Plus or higher.

## Financial summaries and reports

### Bookings

Members don't see the **Total revenue**, **Total bookings**, **Avg. booking**, or **Paid in full** summary cards on the [Bookings page](/bookings).

Members can use the Bookings list, search by contact name or email, apply filters, and open individual bookings. The summary cards and **Total price** column are hidden. Members can still see amounts when they open individual bookings or invoices.

### Invoices

Members don't see the summary cards for unpaid amounts that aren't due yet, overdue amounts, or payments received in the last 30 days on the [Invoices page](/invoices).

They can still use the invoice list, search and filters, open individual invoices, and see each invoice's amount, balance, and payment status. Invoice editing and CSV export remain available, subject to the usual rules for the invoice's status.

### Payments

Members don't have access to the [Payments page](/finance/payments), including its [Payouts tab](/finance/payouts) and Stripe activity view. The Payments sidebar option and Payments and Payouts search shortcuts are hidden. Opening a Payments URL directly returns them to Home.

Members can still see payment information on individual invoices.

### Reports

Members don't have access to [Reports](/reports) or [Sales tax reports](/reports/sales-tax). Reports options are hidden in the sidebar and search menu. Opening a Reports URL directly returns them to Home.

The booking-rate percentage on Pipeline remains visible to Members, but it doesn't link to Reports.

## Team management

Members can open **Settings → Members** to see their teammates and roles. They can't:

* Send an invitation to a new teammate.
* Promote or demote anyone, including themselves.
* Remove a teammate.
* View the removed-members section or restore a removed member.
* Transfer company ownership.

Members can see pending invitations and resend an existing invitation on Plus or higher. Deleting an invitation requires an Admin or Owner, even if the option appears in the invitation menu.

Ask an Admin or Owner to [change a role or manage team access](/settings/members).

## Company information and locations

Members can view the **Company information** section in [Company settings](/settings/general), but they don't have its edit control. The same restriction applies to **Company info** on the invoice edit page.

This prevents Members from using those controls to change:

* Company name and invoice display name.
* Company billing address.
* Company contact email, phone number, and website.
* Tax identification information.
* Company currency and locale in Company settings.

The restriction applies to the company's details. Members can still edit a customer's bill-to name and email, invoice notes, and other available invoice fields.

Members can add and edit active locations, including their address, time zone, default email, and default tax rate. They can't archive locations, see the archived-locations section, or restore an archived location.

Other settings have their own controls. The Member role doesn't make every settings page read-only: Stripe connection controls and the platform-fee setting remain available on the Company page. Only the Owner can delete the company.

## Choosing a role for a new teammate

Choose **Member** for someone handling customer inquiries, quotes, event coordination, and individual invoices who doesn't need company financial summaries or team administration. They can do daily work while an Admin or Owner handles the restricted actions above.

Choose **Admin** for someone who needs to review financial performance, see booking prices in the list, use Payments or Reports, manage team access, update company information, or archive and restore locations. Admins can view the financial summaries and manage other teammates, so consider both responsibilities before promoting someone.

If someone only needs information for the events they're scheduled to work, use [event staff](/staff). Event staff are separate from workspace Members and don't need a Flashquotes account to receive their event information.

You can start with Member and ask an Admin or Owner to promote the person later. See [Managing Team Members](/settings/members) for invitation and role-change steps.
